honestly one thing that’s kinda crazy after growing up on tumblr (during what I’d call) the height of the soul eater fandom, is that soul eater is still WILDLY popular, just not how I’m used to
I mean, Meg the stallion cosplaying kid was INSANE— she’s SO INSANE for that— and it ATE DOWN??
and also, soul eater is SO popular on tiktok?? there’s so many trends that specifically involve those cheesy fucking eclectic poses that okubo would draw the teams in, you know what I’m talking about right— (Maka giving back shots to soul) and ppl copying them and having fun and it honestly makes me so happy
like ppl still LOVE this serious, it makes me so happy and it astonishes me so much to see some soul eater cosplay video getting upwards of 50k+ likes bc WHAT. clearly back in 2015 we weren’t reaching our full potential 👁️👄👁️
and get this, soma is still popular but what I’ve observed is that platonic soul mates soma is I think THE MAJORITY ship where I’ve looking? That’s insane from the pov of someone having grown up on here 2013-2019, before things rly started slowing down. Absolutely insane. Soma foothold was so strong. Anons were sent. Antis were made. Families were torn apart (jokes jokes,,, but what if 👀)
it’s the 20th anniversary for soul eater this year and I’m feeling so strange about it. I just can’t shake this silly little gothic try hard series ☹️ happy anniversary guys, I’m happy ppl still love soul eater to bits

War of Shadow Realm ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Chapter 4 Pt.13 (1/3) ~
[Phanto Sanctuary - Planet Jupiter]
[Master C - Sota Fujimori]
Spirit Albarn : Oh, F**k! Where the hell am I!? Not the biggest idea for having myself into this place.
Maka's Mother/Female Phanto : Wake up, Spirit! Wake up! (Spirit wakes up)
Spirit Albarn : Honey, what is this place?
Maka's Mother/Female Phanto : Don't you remember? This is the place where Maka grew up on, the Phanto Sanctuary, the place that Phanto captured me when Maka was about to be born on Earth, so he took me to this place to give his race's blood to my daughter! She wasn't half weapon, she was half-Phantonian.
Spirit Albarn : half-Phantonian? What do you mean about that, dear? Are you saying that Maka's half-human and half-Phantonian, does that mean that she's some kind of Alien hybrid?
Master Phanto : Well, well, if it ain't the man who adopted the demon queen from earth.
Spirit Albarn : Long time no see, Phanto.
[the flames lit up to reveal Phanto sitting on his throne]
Master Phanto : It has been around 18 years since I took your wife, this is the place where your daughter was born and raised on this planet that my people conquered it. While you adopted a look alike human that is a demon disguise. Inky Albarn, the ruler of Bendy's world, wasn't it?
[Preparation for Ritual - Jun Senoue]
Spirit Albarn : How on earth did you know that.
Master Phanto : Because I monitored the situation on earth, you have been the daughter of an demonic queen that posed herself as the hero of Soul World. Lucky for me that I kept the real one safe, the one you really knew about. Hardly, Inky Albarn has used the perfect disguise by becoming the hero of today, and is immune to Shinra's or the mad man's influence.
Spirit Albarn : Well, yeah? Guess what? I heard that your daughter Moirai heard that she kept her and Maka's identity as a secret to make their selves as Earth's sworn protectors of earth. But for me, I hardly to keep a secret to make Inky Albarn as the meister herself, Maka Albarn. More importantly, about Inky Albarn, her disguising as the hero of Soul World, she wasn't a friendly person of Real World AU, she was evil and is extremely abusive to her human friends, and the witches were involved of this! In some sort of way! I begged everything for the real Maka Albarn, not the demon that I adopted it!
Master Phanto : Ah yes, I remembered! That was the day when Inky Albarn made those attacks on earth and is capable for putting the blame on our dear daughter Maka. That's how Inky Albarn wasn't involved for that, she knew the whole thing. Her plans on conquering the earth could be a fresh one, but I simplified that her weakness can be unknown.
Spirit Albarn : So, You agree that you'll help me out? I beg you to help me out! I've been only trying to respectful to my own daughter! Please, Mr. Phanto! Just give me one chance to prove that I'm a good father!
Master Phanto : That'll be your chances on saving earth. Help her out now or I'll demonstrate you that my people has the power to devour your soul for energy!
Spirit Albarn : I promise, sir! I promise!
Phanto Guy : My Lord! We found out where Maka is located at! She's at an abandoned space station called the "ARK", battling a random intruder that looks alike her, Spartoi unit.
Master Phanto : So, it appears that Maka finally understands that she is the only kind to save her world from the faces of true evil itself! I've waited long enough to dispose of those who wanted to bring destruction on the planet!
"Meanwhile back on the ARK..."
[For True Story - Fumie Kumatani, Heigo Tani]
Maka Albarn : Alright, time for a big showdown! You and me!
Spartoi Maka : I'll make sure that before the battle's over, let me show you the power of Chaos Control!
Maka Albarn : Chaos Control you say? Well, how about this! (Knocks Spartoi Maka off the passagway) Ha! That ought to teach you to mess with--
Spartoi Maka : Psyche! This is the ultimate power! (Teleports back on the passageway) I managed to use the power of the emeralds that Master Neo told me. It'll be wise enough to get me back on my feet!
Maka Albarn : Oh, A Chaos Emerald. That's what Grim told me about using the power of the emerald! (Spartoi trips Maka over) Wah!
Spartoi Maka : See ya next fall, Albarn! Hope you will be turning to into a fiery star, straight into earth (laughs, but Maka reappears by using Chaos Control)
Maka Albarn : You were saying?
Spartoi Maka : What?! You can use Chaos Control!? How on earth are you doing it!?
Maka Albarn : Easy! A blue hedgehog gave me the emeralds that can make warp or even has the power to stop time! Pretty sweet, huh? (Uses her blood magic to create her iconic scythe)
Spartoi Maka : Impossible! She using Blood magic to create weapons?! No one has ever done it before and I bet you won't even stop this attack! Chaos Spear! (Uses Chaos Spears to attack Maka, but she deflects it by swinging her scythe) How can she even do that?!
Maka Albarn : And now...(shifts her weapon into a Boxing glove) You're finished!
*DBZ SFX : STRONG PUNCH X3*
Spartoi Maka : GUWA-HAAAAA! *DBZ SFX : Collapses* This... Isn't over! I am the ultimate meister to be...created.
[JINGLE : Clear (SA2/Heroes Ver.) - Jun Senoue]
Maka Albarn : Game over, Spartoi! Now then, what to do with this android copy of me? Oh, I know! I better show this to my sister! Wait for me, Moirai! (Picks up the unconscious Spartoi Maka and carries on her back) Uh-Oh! This passageway ain't gonna last long! Better change of plans (pulls out the chaos emerald) Hope this works! Chaos...Control!
*Sonic SFX : Chaos Control*

I just realized it's been nearly a month and I haven't reported back to the western Soul Eater community the live experience of the Soul Eater Exhibit so here's what I got for you!
First of all, these are taking place at Animate stores and if somehow you think you can make travel plans within the next month or two, there is a third showing in Kyoto happening in January. When entering you are given a random shikishi board and if you paid extra you also get a sweatband (but I did not). I went with a friend who happened to live nearby who helped a lot with getting tickets but they were at the door available as well.
The entrance was a small area that featured the main promotional image and the Excalibur floral display replicating the one in the manga.
Beyond the entrance there was no video allowed and at certain points no photos allowed. Mostly at the end where there were a bunch of Shikishi boards with signatures from staff and voice actors.
What I didn't realize from pictures is that the manga pages shared are the original pages showing all the techniques and mistakes on page. I wish I could share them all but Tumblr is not the place for that. The one I did want to share is a page where presumably Ohkubo and an assistant played tiktaktoe and made and aiaikasa for Renton and Eureka from Eureka7 which was also being released in Shonen GanGan at the same time.
Not all pages of the series were shared and it was more favored to the first half of the series with different section to highlignt characters and story beats. The first main area was after the first curtain (photo above) had Maka's scythe and a copy of each volume hung up on a side wall. You then go through a set of curtains with souls on it into a large space that had the main pairs and additional charactera from the volume art blown up with the corresponding introduction chapters. This is the space with the replica of Shinigami-sama's room. This led into a hall featuring Crona and had a decal of Crona and Maka's shadows holding hands on the ground. Then there was the Excalibur Wall. My memory after that is a little fuzzy because I was distracted/self conscious(Was very amused by another pair as the clear fan explained the series to her friend); if I remember right there was a second hall showing the brew arc then Black Star's final Mifune fight and then a corner space representing the Arcane fight with a blown up decal of Maka in her black blood dress. The space didn't feel like people should walk in it, there was a thin foam on the floor and words from the panel dangling down so you couldn't really see much of the art. Early spartoi passes by really fast in favor of a wider hall with the killing of Medusa; pages on the right with corresponding blown up art on the left. At the end was a giant wall featuring the moon. Then it the pages of the final fight and the display ends with curtains showing Maka and Soul diving into Asura's black blood to find Crona.
The major bit at the end is there is a fully voice acted section of the final chapters of Soul Eater with the manga pages manipulated to it. The motion graphics weren't crazy amazing, about what you'd expect out of a storybook style pv. You were not allowed to take photos or video of this section. So a whole voice recording of what the finale of the manga could sound like could become lost media unless it's released somehow. There's a small final room showing the pages of the final chapters art. A large acrylic display of the meisters in their final character evolution that's backlit. A final space shows off the colored art, the originals if the were done traditionally. There's a small selection of new art, really long piece. Ones that has the og cast and the not girls which probably was during the not era but I don't remember ever seeing it. And then a spread of Spartoi plus Not. Liz and Tsugumi have the best fits in it but I feel a lot of people will like Crona's shirt best. Ohkubo signed a print with a sketch of Maka at the end alongside the two pieces that he love drew on the opening days. In the same space is where the signature shikishi boards were. I was extremely sad that I couldn't take a pic because one had some sort of Maka that was gorgeous but we speculated that it was to avoid signature fraud.
After that you took the stairs down to an extremely tight store. I realized too late that there were no photo signs however it feels like I'm missing some pictures I had taken from my gallery.
This is where I'm gonna be hella real, I do not fucks with Ohkubo's Soul Eater art in recent years. I saw a guy on Tiktok standing by it was his Twitter sketch style but that doesn't work for me with official products. From the perfect edition cover art, to the exhibition special art, to the two??? new pieces for the encore art book; it all feels extremely sloppy in terms of linework, posing, and proportions. If someone were to tell me it's a result of burnout, I would respect that easily but none the less I did not buy anything with the exhibit art on it (sans the pamphlet) more grab the art book. The art book is probably not worth it either unless you weren't able to grab the previous ones. I probably will eventually get it when the English one comes out next year and I probably would've saved money if I bought it while I was there but the weight wasn't worth it and I had in fact spent ¥42,000.
For all the things I did buy, I do regret not picking up some items; an art board from the other artbooks, the sticker set A, the mini towel, and one additional set of the cookies and coffee but as seen above I grabbed a lot and felt pretty aware I had a full basket compared to everyone else. You could also only make one purchase per a ticket and sadly only one commemorative bag per a purchase (I still ended up with two due to my friend). The final thing that you may want to know is the quality of said good; the plushies are worth it simply for existing but could've been higher quality, the ¥7000 (roughly $50) hoodie I bought was extremely thin and has shed so much from the inside that I have yet to wash it in fear it would disintegrate (I'm being slightly dramatic but I truly fear what will happen when I do), and while I did not buy them I did see the in person versions of the made to order items; the skate deck was a proper translation but didn't look particularly nice considering the simplicity of the design and the Soul Jacket was worse than cosplay quality made out of a really thin poly that didn't hold it's shape. ¥18700 yen is about $120 USD right now which is already way too much for the quality but keep in mind the buying power is equivalent to roughly $190. If you want Soul's OG jacket then I would best recommend customizing a real varsity jacket, followed by finding a used one of the original great eastern release, followed by what ever streetwear brand version of your choosing because while they might have inaccuracies, they will at least have ribbed trimming. I know I'm ragging on this pretty hard but I want to emphasize that it is an item you are not missing out on in case you feel the need to proxy order one. The most worthwhile items will be the plushies and food goods, and from there O would call the general Osaka added goods nice. Initially I was not impressed with the acrylic blocks but in person they had nice dimension. Any printed good outside of that is your own discretion albeit I don't think they're particularly going to be high value items in the future.
The final final part is I found out the day before there was a wrapped train for the show. Honestly a higher honor than I expected for the series. However the night before was spent at an Onsen a good distance away and the day of was a downpour so I sadly did not witness it as it would of likely been an effort to find.
I think that's all I can give towards the experience in writing but I will include particular sights in subsequent reblogs.

I saw some chattering in other posts on tumblr complaining about FF charachters, but someone brought up the point that something seemed to change even back in Soul Eater - so do you think Gopher and the later clowns where a sign of Ohkubo changing his prioritys in how he portrays charachters, making them unfunny one time gags? Or is this something he allways did and people just imagine some "vibeshift"? But if not, do you think changes in editors/assisstants could be a reason? Maybe Ohkubo never was the driving force behind the more praised elements in Soul Eater?
I’ve been struggling how to respond to this, so I’m going to break up the submission into parts and just respond to parts of it along the way towards getting to something of an answer.
I saw some chattering in other posts on tumblr complaining about FF charachters,
I mean, I have a lot of complaints about Fire Force characters.
It’s not quite the My Hero Academia problem of too many characters, but Fire Force characters definitely had those that seemed underdeveloped.
Were some of these characters there just to serve the plot with nothing else to do?
That seems to be the case of the Fire Agency Director who barely (never?) shows up after Akitaru is captured by the White Clads.
And that seems to be the case of Huang, who resurrects Shinra then dies, which makes Shinra’s death as pointless as Izuku losing his arms before Eri’s horn brings them back--but, whoops, Huang is resurrected along with everyone else by Shinra, only now as a snake person, and we never hear her thoughts on the matter, and it’s just for the sake of using her or Orochi as the fans’ headcanon as Medusa’s ancestor.
Then there are characters whose narrative trajectory is not at all clear, especially Benimaru and Kurono and even Joker, where Ohkubo forces their doppels into the story to tsk tsk the audience for misinterpreting what he was going for with them.
but someone brought up the point that something seemed to change even back in Soul Eater -
I do think characterization changed after the Arachnophobia arc and starting with the introduction of Noah’s gang. I can accept some of those changes: they just lost Kid, they are now a Spartoi unit. But it’s also that vague timeskip to get to the Spartoi unit, Maka and Soul getting enough souls, that there seems to be a few steps missing. I’ve toyed with a fanfic to try to explain the personality changes--because, again, the changes make sense, I just wish we had a story to show that character progression. If anything, with Maka all of a sudden now interested in Soul treating her like Ox treating Kim, it feels like there was potential to address this more clearly, such as something else having happened aside from Crona going missing that may make her more invested in what is going on with Soul.
so do you think Gopher and the later clowns where a sign of Ohkubo changing his prioritys in how he portrays charachters, making them unfunny one time gags?
Not to be a hater, but the “unfunny one-time gags” were there long before Gopher. I mean, I thoroughly enjoy the Flying Dutchman, especially turning his and Blair’s fight into a Tom and Jerry short--but I think that’s a reason we didn’t see the Dutchman again in the rest of the series, it was a one-time gag, we’re done with him.
So maybe that is why there are some changes in the manga starting with Noah’s gang: this is no longer a series about collecting souls, it’s no longer one-off adventures, we’re now trying to do a longer arc. Sure, you can argue that the “one-off adventures” ended much earlier when Crona sliced Soul and now it’s a race to stop Medusa from resurrecting the Kishin, only, whoops, that still happens, so now we shift focus abruptly to Arachnophobia, but, whoops, they weren’t that long-lasting of an antagonist, so back to Medusa--or is it Noah--or Crona--and where did the Kishin go?
…See how the story lost focus as soon as Asura was resurrected?
Let’s go back to that one-off adventure structure and the Flying Dutchman. Even when the plot is now about stopping Medusa, we still had stories that, initially, seemed like one-off antagonists: Kid and the Thompsons collecting the souls from the Dutchman’s ship. It does tie into Medusa’s storyline once Crona claims those souls, but at least it felt like a one-off story. Even the fight between Kid and the Fisher King did both, a one-off antagonist and progressing the larger arc, in this case Arachnophobia.
But I do think something changed once Soul became a Death Scythe. A lot of the people Soul and Maka killed could have served a similar purpose--but now that Soul is a Death Scythe, they have no reason to collect souls, now they’re on the frontlines against the Big Bads…and they just aren’t that engaging of antagonists. Noah’s purpose is delayed for so long, then it just turns out he’s a puppet. Medusa’s grand scheme ends with her death, so while her villainy continues to hang over what comes next with Crona, she’s gone. Crona is not quite the villain, they’re the antagonist, and even then they seem just as much of a puppet as Noah.
We don’t get many one-off cool villains to fight: the Book of Eibon monsters are cool horror movie references, but they are mindless beasts; we don’t have a Mifune who is morally compromised, historical villains like Rasputin or Al Capone that we could play around with to re-interpret history (which, granted, Ohkubo didn’t really do much with Rasputin or Capone either), Samantha the Witch was nothing but at least the Wrath of the Pharaoh was a brutal opponent with a shocking design. If we had some one-off battles that could still progress the story forward, it could be more engaging--and would be an excuse to progress characterization for the main characters as well as overlooked supporting characters (Team B, some Death Scythes) and long-lost characters (the NOT trio).
Or is this something he allways did and people just imagine some "vibeshift"?
I mean, as I say above, the problems were there earlier. I think we didn’t notice as much because we were invested in the mystery of Medusa’s plan--but once Asura is resurrected, we lose the one-off fights, Medusa’s plan fades away until she just dies, Arachnophobia and Noah just aren’t as compelling, and Asura is goofing off on the Moon the entire time so he’s barely a factor in the story where he has been the overarching threat all along, because Asura is a force of nature, not a realized character.
But if not, do you think changes in editors/assisstants could be a reason? Maybe Ohkubo never was the driving force behind the more praised elements in Soul Eater?
I remain so ignorant as to who were Ohkubo’s editors and assistants on all of his manga, so I can’t comment on whether they influenced his choices. Of the two, it would be the editors guiding where his stories would go far more than what assistants may have done--although, not ignoring that an assistant may have a stylistic choice that makes Ohkubo realize something.
And as I’ll try to say more below before I wrap up, there is more across Ohkubo’s works--B Ichi, Soul Eater, NOT, Fire Force--that is similar than different, even visual details that creep into works where he was only the character designer or illustrator, that leads me to think he was the driving force, even as I am loathe to acknowledge that means he is responsible for elements that are praised in Soul Eater. I just happen to think, given how badly Fire Force turned out, that the editors of Soul Eater just did a better job guiding him in directions that worked so well in Soul Eater and earned him praise, whereas with Fire Force it just is a message I don’t like, and his editors encouraged his worst traits.
There is enough consistent across Ohkubo’s works--character designs, design touches, personality and character archetypes, themes, settings--that I am inclined to think Ohkubo has been consistent, however much he has changed in details for the worse or chose different tones and messages, and has only changed in how bad he can be because, by increased fame or change in editors, he gets away with more.
Across just Soul Eater, we saw the changes after the Arachnophobia arc, starting with Kid’s kidnapping and the positioning of Noah as a new big bad with his own gang, while Medusa was off scheming. And all of these changes came along with changes in the artwork, not just in giving the DWMA their own Spartoi uniforms but little tweaks to the artwork that seemed to be pulling a bit more from the Studio BONES designs and seemed like Ohkubo had settled into a typical, albeit a little less visually interesting, character design style.
I’m kind of petering out here at the end, so, to reiterate, I think there is more similar across his works, even as his visual style had a lot of different directions along the way. And this is all united by his characterization approach staying mostly the same, in that he has characters change so to change the plot, rather than letting the plot change the characters: he just has a character act a way to serve the story (Maka suddenly jealous of Ox and Kim) rather than having that change in characterization result from the story itself. It’s how we get Shinra pretty much staying the same throughout Fire Force despite what the story should have changed in him--all because the ending, evidently, was always going to be about resurrecting everyone anyway, so why should Shinra have much if any reaction to death, except the last one, Akitaru, that finally makes him lose control, let the world get burned to ash, so he can resurrect it all.

Croma week day 6: Madness
Tumblr media
teehee :)
inspired by my own thoughts LOL one of the questions on the Soul Eater ask board that's been passed around asked which of your favorite characters would you turn into a villian (or something like that) and so i ran w/ that a while ago and haven't stopped thinking about it. scenario is that after Crona's put on Lord Death's list, Maka leaves the Spartoi to defend Crona and try to help them before the others can get to them (i got into the idea a bit more here)
also, this was one of the WIPs i mentioned that got deleted in The Incident. i luckily was able to be scrappy and resourceful and bring this piece back from the dead, but my sketches for tomorrow also got deleted so i Most Likely won't have anything to post tomorrow even though i love that prompt </3

Finally read Soul Eater vol. 14 three entire months after initially buying it, and I gotta say, it was fine.
I’m enjoying the series for sure, Crona’s story is captivating as always and I’m interested to see where it goes, but man, the pacing seems to get worse and worse as the chapters go on. Like I’ve talked before about how the series skyrocketed way harder in scope size than it probably should’ve, but Jesus.
The series is so cool in concept, basically all the characters are so sick, I love so many of the ideas and plotlines, and the artstyle is one of the best I’ve seen in manga ever (or really in general ever), but I find it just fumbles the execution not enough to ruin it, but just enough to frustrate you.
Outside of the scale/scope thing I talked about before, there are just so many ideas that start out cool as fuck but then eat shit on the landing. Like Soul’s corruption to the imp has been building up more and more since even before the kishin was released, with him using more and more of its powers hinting towards some huge unraveling where everything comes loose and he becomes a big chaotic threat with a big arc about rescuing him. In the end that kinda happened, and his chaos form was pretty cool, except he got over it in like a chapter and everything’s cool now (though I will say his conversation with the imp and whole character struggle is cool)
Honestly now that I mention it, Soul’s a weird character for me, where I think his internal struggle and arc are interesting and I enjoy them, but I just have no thoughts about him as a character outside of that. I just can’t really think of anything about how he acts outside of his own head that really endears me to him, I find him just kinda bland. The majority of his time acting normally around others really doesn’t display much personality I find, which is unfortunate considering how cool his internal arc and piano thing are.
Speaking of characters, god there are a lot of them aren’t there? From what I can tell Atsushi Ohkubo kinda runs into a rare writer issue, being “I have more ideas than I know what to do with”. He just seems to have so many sick character ideas in his head that he can’t help but add to the series, but as he keeps adding them he finds he can’t handle the increasing responsibility of actually using them all well in the story.
Like think of how many characters are at least active by volume 14:
We of course have the main 7 (Maka, Soul, Black☆Star, Tsubaki, Kid, Liz, Patty)
Then another 7 in the rest of the Spartoi (Kiriko, Fire, Thunder, Ox, Harvar, Kim, Jackie),
Then we can add on the 5 (important) DWMA staff members (Death, Spirit, Stein, Sid, Mira)
Then the 6 other Death Scythes (Marie, Azusa, Justin, Tezca, Dengu, Djinn)
And the 5 members of Medusa’s (former) gang (Crona, Ragnarok, Free, Eruka, Mizune family)
And the 4 surviving members of Noah’s gang after that fell apart like wet toilet paper (Noah, Gopher, Index, the Clown)
And the 3 elder gods we know besides Death (Eibon, Asura, that dude in Eibon’s book)
And 7 assorted characters who are (presumably) somewhat important but don’t fit into any other categories (Blair, Imp, Excalibur, Maba, Angela, Akane☆Hoshi, Clay Sizemore, probably more I forgot)
That’s 44 characters in total, and that’s only including the ones who are alive and shown to be at least somewhat involved in the current conflict and/or important in the world as a whole, which seems to me as very clearly being a lot to keep track of in a series as quickly paced as this one
Anyways, this is a lot of words to say Soul Eater’s very good so far, but I really wish it just got to reach the full potential of its ideas more than it ended up being able to

2 and 5 for the Soul Eater ask board? 😺
2. If you had to wear one of the character's fits, whose would you wear?
Maybe this is cheating because it's not his main main outfit, but I would probably go with Blackstar's Spartoi fit. I honestly love it.
5. Turn your favorite villain into a blorbo. Who would they get along with now that they aren't evil, and how would they act as one of the good guys?
(I was afraid someone was gonna ask me this) This is gonna sound so lame of me, but I don't really have a favorite villain?? I think if I had to choose I'd go with Giriko, and I envisioning him with zero personality change, barely even lightens up, and just isn't a villain anymore. In a weird way I think he's get along best with Soul and Patty because she is Pure Chaos, and he can appreciate that.
Thanks for the ask!

The Soul Eater Gang and the professors play Baldur's Gate 3: what's their alignment, what are their ships and what type of character they play?
Oh boy okay lmao
Maka tries Lawful Good but rapidly realizes she’s actually Chaotic Good. Two-handed weapon fighter with a few barbarian levels. Ships? Don’t know her. She’s here to hit stuff.
Soul comes in like ooooohhh I’m True Neutral but he feels too weird about making “bad” choices so he just ends up Neutral Good. Is bard too obvious a choice? Don’t care. He’s playing music in the background and yelling insults. He ships Wyll/ Karlach because Relateable.
Black*Star is that guy who's a chaos gremlin and just fucks up everyone else's shit because he thinks it's funny. Oh you're talking to the squirrel? Imma drop kick it. lol. He starts as a rogue but ends up a barbarian three levels in. He ships everyone/himself.
Tsubaki is actually Chaotic Neutral?? Like you think she's Good aligned but then she supports Star's bullshit and you're like "oh." She's the actual party rogue assassin. She ships Shadow'Zel.
Kid is 100% Lawful Neutral. That bitch will freak the fuck out on you when you start breaking the rules but he also doesn't subscribe to your puritan notions of "good" and "bad." He's just death. He's like a dual-wielding Gloomstalker Ranger. Ships? Why?
Liz is a True Neutral sorcerer bc she doesn't want to break a nail and also she's lazy but she'll still fuck you up if you come near Kid or Patti. Liz ships herself/Wyll because he's a dreamy priiiiiiince.
Patti is wholly Chaotic Evil, she gives no shits. She thinks Orin is fucking hilarious. Just murder murder murder left and right but don't you DARE touch Scratch or any other animal, she will END you. She's... god, I don't know, she takes a level in every class. Patti ships Astarion with Withers because it's funny.
okay that's all I got the patience for the professors and the rest of Team Spartoi will have to figure it out lol.

Mr. Brightside, Sugar We’re Goin Down, Angel of Darkness, and Discord for your soul eater s/i? 🫶
THANK U!!! 🥺
MR. BRIGHTSIDE :: If your s/i had to describe themselves, what would that description be? Would they be honest with how they describe themselves?
hmm i feel like...styx would describe themselves in a sort of jaded but straightforward way. like they have a very suppressed sense of self, so i think at first if asked directly they take it very literally and start answering like "uhhh i'm about 5'8, kinda fat, dark hair..." etc etc. autism moment. if pressed for more they might start describing themselves as more of a tool than a person; a mirror for everyone else to look in, without an image of its own. and considering how they've been used for their powers their whole life, it's...not completely untrue. Depersonalization the clown.
SUGAR WE’RE GOIN DOWN :: Does your s/i’s inclusion in the media’s plot change anything majorly? If so, what’s changed?
oh definitely. their whole thing is divining the future, after all, though if there's one thing styx has learned, it's that trying to avoid your fate is often what causes it. most early story beats wouldn't fundamentally change, i think, especially since they're kept a secret from most of the academy (and subsequently the main characters), but i think their existence is revealed during the formation of spartoi and from then on they have a more significant role. which i.....mostly still need to work out ajlhdajkls but the biggest change i think would be that they put sorta put pressure/put the idea in the kids head that asura might be reached thr same way that crona was (yes this is part of my asura redemption propaganda)
ANGEL OF DARKNESS :: Is your s/i merciful and/or forgiving?
absolutely nottt they are the #1 grudge holder <3 they crave violence and revenge at all times. which is funny since im insistent on asura redemption but i guess its different in my mind and in styx's. they're really extremely unforgiving when it comes to things people have done to them, but their less than solid and fair morality has them caring little for what asura has done to others
DISCORD :: Is your s/i superstitious? Does your s/i believe in the supernatural or things like astrology and tarot cards?
.........................................................................................yes

War of Shadow Realm ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Chapter 4 Pt.12 ~
[Final Fortress/Eggman Fleet Core]
Ashley : So much getting through. This must be our luck!
Kimial Diehl : No idea! I think we're in the core of the armada, or we're still on the flagship, Metal Sonic did had some power to control the storms.
Ashley : I hope there's only a minute to spare.
Kimial Diehl : Good thinking! Then let's hope to it!
Eggman : (piloting the Egg Emperor) : I wouldn't think so!
Kimial Diehl : Oh no!
[Break You Down - Yutaka Minobe]
Ashley : You must be the mad scientist that blew up Prison Island, right? Wait a sec, you're decoy sent by Neo Metal, aren't you?
Kimial Diehl : What a worthless sucker you are.
Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : Oh, I find very intriguing that a maniac that blew up an island that imprisoned Shadow 50 years ago. It happened back then during the incident and after the Black Arms Invasion, The Time Eater is sending a decoy that distracted the four teams to think they won. But more importantly, Neo Metal has been using these vehicles to manipulate the heroes in order to collect data.
Ashley : You're willingly to forget all the things you did back on the island that you blew up! As much of Neo Metal's influence being the overlord himself, I am going to put up that nuisance of yours and it will be your lasts!
Sonic : Not so fast, Eggman!
[Sonic Appears - Takahito Eguchi]
Ashley : Huh?
Knuckles : We won't let you ruin the fun!
Ashley : That must be the blue blur himself!
Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : And brought some friends on his journey!
Sonic : Hey, I've known you guys before, you were those detectives that took the baddies and even that worm from MMORPG, if you don't mind. You're Ashley, the Ashley?
Ashley : Yeah, and you are?
Sonic : I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.
Ashley : So, I've come to apprehrend that the video game rival to the plumber has arrived to join the fight, and is also another of the Smash Fighters. Very well, we'll be useful if we stick together and defeat this monstrosity!
[Egg Emperor by Jun Senoue Plays]
Sonic : Ready for another round in that robot you're controlling!
Kimial Diehl : Time to give up your wicked ways!
Ashley : I'm putting a stop to this once and for all!
Eggman : Is that so? Hmph! Enough of this! Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Detectives! Time to meet your maker!
Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : Let's do this!
Eggman : I'll show you what real evil is!
Ashley : So, you're lucky that we're able to fight a decoy inside that mech!
Sonic: Of course!
Ashley : Guess we sure know how to stop this mad genius! There's gotta be some kind of fire power that needs to be taken down! (The robot's fire missiles) Missiles incoming!
Tails : Let me try to deflect them! (Thundershoots Sonic and Knucles to deflect the missiles) Lucky for me that Fly-types are the only things that can take a machine down! Quick he's heading for the center!
Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre : We'll use the power of team blast to finish him off!
"Meanwhile..."
Maka Albarn : It's so quiet over here. Nothing much that Makoto decided to help me out.
[Event : Sonic vs Shadow - Fumie Kumatani]
Spartoi Maka : Well, well, well. I'd never actually admit it that you would be sent in by the Mobian Death God, Grim. Congratulations on making it this far. I wouldn't believe that you the real one who was falsely accused of one's actions against humanity.
Maka Albarn : Right! Which is why I am needed for the real world to have a true hero like me. Born on the Planet Jupiter, I was saved by someone that I even truly met as a kid. The boy who was part human, and part Phantom, Makoto Asagiri!
Spartoi Maka : And he is the one that saved your life? That could be possibly true! I understand that this was all part of your plan to avenge the inhabitants of Earth who were attacked by Inky Albarn, the demon queen that plans on conquering the Real World. Now that I have your attention, of being so surreal, how would you even on saving your life, fates can be real challenging! So who are you, the girl who wanted to save humanity from the faces of True evil?
Maka Albarn : The girl who is going to kick their butts! I'm the one and only Maka Albarn, there is! And you will never change that fact! Time to give the Real World my courage! And I do adventures for fun!
Spartoi Maka: Wow, aren't you the girl that knows adventures that much? I see then, (the two starts sprinting) If you're really that clever for a hero that was mistaken by the likes of that imposter, I suggest that we should settle this! But in terms of this battle, the fates of your world will be their in hands, or your adventuring days are coming to an end!
Maka Albarn : Right back at ya, android! I will the avenge the people of Earth and my family as well! (scene cuts pitch black)
Maka & Makoto : (voices heard) Let the fated battle begins.

More obscure muses ( introduction ) series.
Fandom: SOUL EATER.
Muse #2 -DEATH THE KID.
Tumblr media
Age: 13-15 ( manga and anime )
Death the Kid, commonly referred to as simply Kid, is the second son of Death himself and the Meister of the Demon Twin Guns, Liz Thompson and Patty Thompson. Created from a piece of Death himself, Death the Kid is known to be one of the top 3 EAT students in the DWMA.
After his father's death at the connection of the Lines of Sanzu and Asura's defeat on the Moon, he inherits his late father's position as leader and headmaster of Death Weapon Meister Academy as well as his name, Lord Death.
Described as possessing an "uptight personality" by Franken Stein, Death the Kid is known to be a normally calm and mature individual compared to those like Black☆Star and Soul Eater. Throughout the series, he's shown to be prideful of his status as a Shinigami, wanting to become the next full-fledged Shinigami and inheriting his father's responsibilities However, he also wants to do so in his own unique way, even telling his own father he wants to makes his own weapons to his specifications despite Death informing him that as a Shinigami, he doesn't really need to collect souls. According to Black☆Star's testament of his view on Death the Kid, despite being a Shinigami he is also capable of being humane and not displaying the typical arrogance of someone who has the status of a god. This is true, so much so that he even see's himself partly as a human and expressed this fact to Asura.
Kid also has a great sense of morality and order, having expressed to the Flying Dutchman that despite being a god, he doesn't deny evil and that there's no one person without some evil within them. However, he believes that everything is about balance instead and strives to keep the balance between "good" and "evil" in equilibrium. When expressing this, he also informed the Flying Dutchman that cares little for other's view on the subject and strives for a "absolutely" perfect world, granting no one freedom to kill.
Kid's view on balance is partly due to his father's teachings to him on order as a child. Despite favoring order, he also aware of not following it blindly. He's quick to question his own father's actions when he had the DWMA storm into Baghdad when searching for Asura and explained that it's wrong to impose their will on others, though was understanding and sympathetic of his father when he realized that due to the threat of Asura, his father doesn't have the luxury of "playing it safe" and may be reckless in his decisions. When the majority of Spartoi was ordered to execute Crona, Kid was the only one who supported the action, citing that Crona's actions were unforgivable and even alluded that the reason why they were ordered to do so by his father was for them to decide how to face Crona but said that both them and "order" must move forward to take care of the threat Crona possessed.
Kid is also extremely humble, shown when he pleaded to the Witch Order, the Witch Judge, and the Witch Queen to assist the DWMA in stopping The Clowns and pushed for both Humans, Witches, the DWMA, and the Witch Order to have better relations. He also put good faith and trust into the Witch Order, despite the protests of Azusa Yumi. He also explained to Azusa that merely holding ideals means nothing and one must realize that people must make an effort to make things better and that If being an adult means "stapling out ideals" because of experience, he doesn't mind being called "Kid". Because of his views, Azusa comments that he is also pushy, much like his father.
Like his father, he also has a fierce and much darker side in his personality. While normally calm and collective, Kid is still susceptible to being angered, such as when Mosquito insulted his father and when Noah's Group announced their plan to assassinate Maka Albarn, he showed a considerable amount of anger. When he later faced Noah (Greed) on his plans of "replacing the gods", Kid even gave him a death threat, in which was guaranteed when he used the Parent's Seven Rays attack on the Sorcerer, killing him.
Despite his great capabilities, Kid also possesses some flaws, most notable him being a perfectionist to the point of having OCD/OD-esque qualities. Described as being "too much of a perfectionist", he initially was very obsessed and concerned with orderliness and paying excessively close attention to detail so much so he chose them as weapons due to their twin appearance in their weapon forms, and even refused to attack the Wrath of the Pharaoh due to symmetry. As well as this, he dislikes the fact that his Lines of Sanzu were incomplete and upon Liz pointing it out, he called himself an ugly pig and worthless piece of garbage until he was quickly cheered up by his fellow weapon partners. He is even physically repulsed by asymmetrical arrangements.
Due to his wanting to be precise in detail, it even took him over a month to help Liz pluck her eyebrows; in addition, he fails an entire test due to being unable to correctly write his name symmetrically and accidentally ripping the paper while erasing, before being reduced to tears. He also let Crona and Ragnarok get away to admire the sky and it's symmetry. Even the mere sight of something asymmetrical causes him to become more aggressive, not only killing the Wrath of the Pharaoh in a fit of rage, but also destroying the Pyramid Anubis due to his recklessness. In actuality, this part of his personality is a manifestation of the Madness of Order due to being a part of Death himself, a fact he himself is unaware of.
Despite this flaw, he is noticeable not unaffected by his father's appearance despite it being asymmetrical possibly due to his immense respect for him. This is a bit more evident when Kid was shown to even willingly sport the same robes of what his father wears on missions. As time passes throughout the series (and the anime), he becomes less affected of his perfectionist nature and matures enough to accept it, though will still occasionally bicker over small details. This remains true even when he became a true Shinigami. One of the earliest examples of this improvement is displayed when he claims not to care about the DWMA's broken spike as Black☆Star begins to descend into madness during their second duel.
Kid has his own, odd quirks. His favorite number is eight due to its symmetry and, according to Liz, was willing to try and place himself in exactly eight seconds during a 100 meter dash test and end up not meeting the time. He can also be somewhat overconfident in his ability, feeling the need to not study Soul Studies just because he was a Shinigami. Due to his perfectionist personality, he is the type of person to recall and correct people on the small of detail, pointing out even when infected by the Madness of Power to Black☆Star he never punched him and instead used his heel during their fight when Black☆Star erroneously stated he punched him into submission, something the assassin noted to be unique to Kid.

Hero Artifact: Maka Albarn and Soul "Eater" Evans
Tumblr media
For a background on this series of creations, see here
This one was hard to come up with because, well, they already have a weapon. In fact, one of them IS a weapon. So I had to be a bit more abstract.
This little thing flies around them in a way similar to 808 from Hi-Fi Rush, and with the power it gives off it alters Maka and Souls abilities quite a lot.
Its construction is partially made from the same Dragon's Teeth that made the Spartoi warriors of which the DWMA squad is named after, as the Dragon was sacred to Ares and its teeth were given by Athena to Cadmus, this grants it the blessing of both Greek War gods.
It was forged with Holy and Hellish methods to play into Maka's angelic Grigori soul and the demonic Black Blood within Soul. Forged with Heavenly Fire and quenched with Demon blood.
Its design is obviously based on the Lord Death mask, with the kind of Grigori wings it has it should reference Soul and Maka's flight power, the Scythe blade on the back is obviously a reference to Soul and gives it a sort of winged musical note motif. The Horns and Halo feed into the angelic/demonic dichotomy. And the colors of the 3 holes on the Death face are a reference to Maka and Soul's souls when shown in the anime, as well as the Witch power a Death Scythe uses.
As for the abilities it actually gives the two:
First, it activates the latent weapon blood within Maka, BUT it also allows her and Soul to share each others' unique weapon attribute which allows Soul to sprout the many blades that are exclusive to the Albarns. When the two of them fight, an option now is to sprout the blades and switch between who the weapon and meister as in a sort of dance of death. The creation of these blades is aided with some Demonic Hemomancy as well as some War God blessings. This Blood power also allows for a lot more variations on the shapeshifting of the Scythe form (with one form even being a straight War Scythe) But, should they want to fight old school, this little doohickey can pop right on top of Soul's Scythe form to just put all this new power into a single blade.
Secondly, the power over music, which is strengthened by the Soul of Arachne's strings. This could range from using sound to vibrate the Scythe blades ala Crona and Ragnarok's screech series of attack, or allowing them to create or even mimic other soul-based attacks/traits. By not just using Soul Perception to see a Soul, but also hear it, and then translating it into a song or even just a few notes, Soul and Maka can mimic it. Mimicking Marie's healing wavelength would be simple, but having her try to mimic Ichigo Kurosaki's Getsuga Tensho...... okay they could try and maybe get something with a similar effect, but they would nowhere NEAR get it to be powerful enough. If they tried the results would range from Damage to the soul directly that would NEED to be treated, loss of their powers, loss of memories, loss of personality, to outright destruction of their Souls. It'd be like someone trying to play guitar and when you try to bring the pick down too hard on the strings you just snap all of them. Power is a big factor in Soul power copying, but also complexity. Copying Getsuga Tensho is possible but they're gonna get a diet version of it unless they can find a way to close the gap, way more complex powers are much harder to copy because it'd be like trying to play 1 instrument with 8 sets of hands, or trying to play the entire band/orchestra by yourself.
Lastly, Maka and Soul are actually a very important part of some of my Mutliversal crossover ideas because of their Group Soul Resonance. By performing a resonance with other characters it can sort of help even out the power levels a bit in a big fight. Compare it to a bunch of gears being on motors. The more powerful the character the more powerful the motor and the faster the gear spins. By group resonating, Maka and Soul can allow other characters' "gears" to spin at those higher levels, for a limited time that is. They can't just handle higher super high amounts of energy. Say if they resonated themselves or someone else with Goku, if Goku went full tilt and powered up to the max they would collapse in like 2 seconds. It needs to be gradual to allow the body to get used to the new power level.
Also as a side thing, due to them taking one of Blair's lives in the first chapter/episode, this artifact now has that extra life stored away. So they got a 1-Up should they need it, but only 1. So killing them both would get around that.
